Basketball Recap: Watchung Hills Regional Takes a Loss

Watchung Hills Regional lost against Phillipsburg back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Watchung Hills Regional Warriors received a blow as they fell 75-59 to the Phillipsburg Stateliners. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Phillipsburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan White-Philpot out in front who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave White-Philpot a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Scerbo Jr., who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists.

Watchung Hills Regional now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Phillipsburg, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Watchung Hills Regional will square off against Clifton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Clifton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Phillipsburg, they will take on Franklin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
