Baseball Recap: New Albany Bulldogs vs. Seymour Owls
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warsaw, New Albany was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Seymour Owls by a score of 6-2. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Owls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
New Albany got a great performance from Tyler McMillen as he pitched eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. McMillen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaleb Elliott was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Braxton Mayfield also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
New Albany kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seymour only managed six hits.

New Albany pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Seymour, they will head out to square off against South Dearborn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
