Volleyball Recap: Southern Boone's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Southern Boone dropped down to 11-18-1 on Monday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of Father Tolton by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Father Tolton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Boone lost, don't look at Sadie Ahern. Despite the final result, she had 23 digs and four aces. Ahern has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played. Kamryn Weter also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

As for Father Tolton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 10, 2024.

Melia Wanserski was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 26 digs and two aces.

Southern Boone has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Kirksville on the 22nd. As for Father Tolton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Hallsville on the 23rd.
