Softball Game Preview: Bangor Slaters vs. Pocono Mountain West Panthers

The Bangor Slaters will face off against the Pocono Mountain West Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bangor will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Monday, Bangor needed a bit of extra time to put away Northern Lehigh. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Slaters have posted since April 24, 2025.

Meanwhile, Pocono Mountain West got themselves on the board against Louis E. Dieruff on Tuesday, but Louis E. Dieruff never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaylee Masotti made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Pocono Mountain West got a massive performance out of Liliana Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs Rodriguez has posted since back in March of 2025. Emma Covino was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Bangor's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Pocono Mountain West, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
