Green Mountain proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Pomona Panthers 7-6. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Green Mountain got a great performance from Caden Kelly as he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Kelly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hudson Burke was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Simon Lunsford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Green Mountain's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Pomona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Green Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-3 win against Air Academy on the 12th. As for Pomona, they have also already played their next match, a 10-9 defeat against Conifer on the 12th.
