Leo can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the New Haven Bulldogs a 16-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for Leo who now have six in a row.
Anna Woods made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Woods has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Woods was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Leo got a massive performance out of Lillian Pierce, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyn Mohr, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and a triple.
Leo pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for New Haven, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Leo will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger at 5:30 p.m. Leo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
