Basketball Recap: Excel Comes Up Short

Excel was the 42-41 winner over T.R. Miller when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Excel Panthers lost 57-34 to the T.R. Miller Tigers on Monday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

T.R. Miller's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marquice English, who went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points and seven rebounds. English continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Johnson, who posted 12 points along with six boards and three steals.

Excel's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for T.R. Miller, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Excel has already played their next game (against Monroe County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. T.R. Miller didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-46 defeat against Saraland on the 14th.
