Volleyball Recap: Centennial Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Centennial had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cavemen/Cavegirls: they've now won eight in a row.

While Centennial won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 28-26.

Leading Centennial to victory were Jocelyn Perez and Giovanni Sophia Monroy. Perez had 12 digs and nine aces, while Monroy had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs gave Monroy a new career-high.

Centennial will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Roswell at 9:00 a.m. on September 5. As for Carlsbad, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Mayfield on the 23rd.
