Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Burlington-Edison's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Burlington-Edison unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Baker Mountaineers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountaineers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Burlington-Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Mt. Baker, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington-Edison will welcome Sedro-Woolley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Baker, they will host Bellingham at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mountaineers are facing the Bayhawks at the right time seeing as the Bayhawks are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
