League recap: Siuslaw tops Brookings-Harbor to extend winning streak

Siuslaw extended the longest winning streak in 4A Far West this week by beating Brookings-Harbor, 54-12. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Vikings.

Siuslaw took down the Bruins 54-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Douglas' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan Shaffer has thrown for 1570 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Riley Lavin has 32 catches for 411 yards. Nate Vosika leads the league in rushing with 557 yards.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Tim Dodson's team takes on North Bend/Oregon Coast Tech. The Vikings have allowed 97 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 157.

North Bend/Oregon Coast Tech made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,850 from 4,131. The improvement was the result of 44-8 victory over Sutherlin last week.
