Basketball Game Preview: Ridgewood Generals vs. Licking Valley Panthers

The Ridgewood Generals will challenge the Licking Valley Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Ridgewood lost to Coshocton on the road by a 75-59 margin. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Redskins are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Licking Valley). Everything went their way against Sheridan on Friday as Licking Valley made off with a 78-56 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ridgewood has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Licking Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
