Football Game Preview: Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils vs. Anchor Bay Tars + Official Tickets

The Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Anchor Bay Tars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grosse Pointe South's defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so Anchor Bay's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Grosse Pointe South blew Lakeview out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Lakeview got their revenge. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 25-22. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blue Devils came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Huskies are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Anchor Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Chippewa Valley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 26-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tars as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Anchor Bay's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Grosse Pointe South, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Grosse Pointe South strolled past Anchor Bay when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 35-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
