Game recap: Aledo High School Football Team defeats Canyon

ALEDO, Texas - Ryan Newsome ran for two touchdowns and Jess Anders added two as well as Aledo (Texas) bested Canyon (Texas) 54-14 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Newsome touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bearcats were up 37-0 at the half.

Aledo expanded its lead to 44 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Luke Bishop.

The loss snapped Canyon's 12-game winning streak.

The Bearcats came into the game allowing 8.0 points per game. The Eagles came in allowing just 13.2 points per game this season.
