Volleyball Recap: Horizon Prep Lions vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders
Horizon Prep came into Thursday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.
Horizon Prep had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-21.
Lochlan Church paced Horizon Prep's offense, picking up 15 kills. Church got some help from Colin Kaese and his 33 assists. Roddick Salas controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
The victory got Horizon Prep back to even at 1-1. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Horizon Prep has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Tri-City Christian on the 13th. St. Joseph Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bonsall at 7:30 p.m. on March 20th.
