Basketball Recap: Marceline Comes Up Short

Marceline lost against Meadville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Marceline Tigers took a blow against the Meadville Eagles, falling 68-37. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.

Meadville was led to victory by Donivan Schreckhise and Mason Dennis. Schreckhise went 7-for-9 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, while Dennis went 7-for-16 to rack up 23 points and seven boards. Dennis is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played. Gavin Shiflett also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Marceline dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Meadville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Marceline nor Meadville have any future games scheduled.
