Softball Recap: Central Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hampshire Whip-Purs, sneaking past 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Whip-Purs two weeks ago, they had to take a 11-10 loss.

Alexis Skarda was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 12 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Covey, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Central's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12-1. As for Hampshire, their record is now 15-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central is set to square off against their familiar foe McHenry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hampshire will take on rival Crystal Lake South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
