Soccer Game Preview: Casteel vs. Pinnacle

Casteel is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Pinnacle is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Casteel Colts will host the Pinnacle Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Casteel is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Higley a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Colts considering their one-goal performance the game before.

They hit Higley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Chris Varvara (2), Jonathan Villasenor, Jon-Luc Renaud, and Hayden Beatse.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle won against Desert Mountain on Tuesday with four goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Pinnacle was the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Highland. Considering the Pioneers have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Pinnacle's win bumped their record up to 11-0-1. As for Casteel, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-2.

Casteel took their win against Pinnacle when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 4-1. Will Casteel repeat their success, or does Pinnacle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
