Basketball Recap: Palm Glades Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Palm Glades Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 58-43 fall against the BridgePrep Village Green Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-39 last Friday.

BridgePrep Village Green's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Carmona, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. With that strong performance, Carmona is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Pedro Ferreira, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Palm Glades Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for BridgePrep Village Green, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Palm Glades Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Redland Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025. BridgePrep Village Green will take on Pinecrest Prep in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
