Hunter barely beat Granger the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp  18-4 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolverines' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
 LEILA AIONO made a splash no matter where she played. She  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI and one  triple.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  KENYA LAPUAHO, who  fired off two  home runs, six  RBI,  and three  runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most  home runs  she has posted since back in March of 2024.  SARAHI GOMEZ was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Hunter was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .576. They are 6-2 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The  victory snapped Hunter's losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 7-11 record. As for Granger, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunter will venture away from home to  challenge Kearns  at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.4  runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Granger, they will head out on the road to  face off against  West Jordan  at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three games.
