Volleyball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge was the 3-0 winner over Hazleton Area when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Raiders came up short against the Cougars on Friday, falling 3-0. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Blue Ridge was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-21.

Jacob Brown paced Blue Ridge's offense, picking up 18 kills. Brown got some help from Riley Phillips and his 26 assists. Finally, Brown was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Hazleton Area, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Blue Ridge will welcome Dallas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hazleton Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
