Recap: Little River Academy Bumblebees vs. Hitchcock Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Little River Academy Bumblebees had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They secured a 42-36 W over Hitchcock. The win was just what Little River Academy needed coming off of a 49-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Little River Academy was led to victory by Kasey Mraz and Cavalli Nealy. Mraz rushed for 106 yards, while Nealy rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns.
Little River Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Salado and 3-8 Rockdale (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 40.8% over those games). As for Hitchcock, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Little River Academy will square off against Diboll at TBD on Friday. Diboll is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games. Hitchcock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
