Basketball Recap: Lakewood Park Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lakewood Park Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 50-40 to the Fremont Eagles on Tuesday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Lakewood Park Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava McGrade, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. McGrade has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracelyn Martin, who put up nine points and five boards.

Lakewood Park Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Fremont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Lakewood Park Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fremont, they will face off against Bethany Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fremont is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
