Football Recap: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Sunrise Mountain Mustangs

Friday just wasn't the day for Willow Canyon's offense. They were beaten by the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs 40-0 on Friday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Willow Canyon's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jace Jewell, Robert Rico, and William Ford, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Sunrise Mountain's side was Jewell, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunrise Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Russell, who rushed for 33 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one touchdown.
