Baseball Game Preview: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. South Rowan Raiders

Central Cabarrus is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and South Rowan a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Central Cabarrus Vikings will welcome the South Rowan Raiders at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Central Cabarrus didn't have quite enough to beat Piedmont and fell 4-3.

Keyen Elbe put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Elbe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Elbe wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Pate, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Pate brought in this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but South Rowan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Northwest Cabarrus 9-8. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Central Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for South Rowan, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
