Recap: China Spring Cougars vs. Alamo Heights Mules
The China Spring Cougars lost against the Alamo Heights Mules back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. China Spring fell 39-31 to Alamo Heights. While losing is never fun, China Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Alamo Heights is ranked 106th).
Alamo Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was John Budenholzer out in front who scored 9 points along with 3 steals. Alex Elliott was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 5 steals.
China Spring's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Alamo Heights, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
China Spring will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lorena at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Lorena will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Alamo Heights, they will face off against Hargrave at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hargrave knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Alamo Heights likes a good challenge.
