Softball Recap: Snow Canyon Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain Crest, Snow Canyon was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Tooele Buffaloes with a sharp 11-5 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Alyssa Staheli, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Avree Chapin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Snow Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Snow Canyon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Tooele, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Snow Canyon is taking a road trip to challenge South Sevier at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. South Sevier will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Snow Canyon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tooele, they will be playing at home against Olympus at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
