Baseball Recap: Pinellas Park Comes Up Short

Pinellas Park lost against Seminole back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Pinellas Park fell just short of Seminole by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered against the Warhawks since April 5, 2019.

Dean Ross made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Pinellas Park: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Daunte Dixon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pinellas Park has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. The win (which was Seminole's third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinellas Park will square off against St. Petersburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinellas Park will need to watch out since St. Petersburg has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Seminole, they will challenge Palm Harbor University at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palm Harbor University will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Seminole surely won't give up without a fight.
