Recap: Madison-Grant Argylls vs. Clinton Central Bulldogs
There's no place like home for the Madison-Grant Argylls, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 78-63 victory over Clinton Central on Saturday. With that win, Madison-Grant brought their scoring average up to 58.3 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison-Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Kelich, who scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Clayton Hull was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with 8 rebounds.
Clinton Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lane Davis, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Creed Mennen who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Davis scored a full 27% of Clinton Central's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Davison, who scored 10 points.
Even though they lost, Clinton Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison-Grant only pulled down four.
Madison-Grant's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Clinton Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Madison-Grant will head out on the road to face off against Elwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sheridan at 7:30 p.m.
