Basketball Recap: Key West Takes a Loss

Key West played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Somerset Prep and fell 93-22. The Conchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-9.

Somerset Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chardae Rumph led the charge by going 8 of 9 on her way to 25 points in addition to six assists and five steals. That's the most assists Rumph has posted since back in November of 2024. Riley Stoker was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Key West dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Somerset Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

Key West has already played their next game, a 32-30 defeat against Hallandale on the 24th. As for Somerset Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Centennial at 6:30 p.m. Somerset Prep has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 236 points over their last three matchups.
