Softball Game Preview: West Feliciana Saints vs. Bunkie Panthers

The West Feliciana Saints will head out to take on the Bunkie Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Feliciana hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

West Feliciana lost 14-2 to St. Joseph's Academy on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bunkie's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Oakdale, falling 12-6.

Aubree Ducote was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andi Bettevy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Amelia LaPrairie, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bunkie's loss dropped their record down to 17-13. As for West Feliciana, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

West Feliciana skirted past Bunkie 11-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
