Baseball Recap: McDowell Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but McDowell ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Fort LeBoeuf Bison 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Collin Swick tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Orlando, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Owen Stranko was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory got McDowell back to even at 4-4. As for Fort LeBoeuf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

McDowell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against General McLane on the 20th. As for Fort LeBoeuf, they have also already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against Meadville on the 20th.
