Jake Hayes gave up the fewest hits he has since back in April on Wednesday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Montgomery is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-11 otherwise.
