Softball Recap: Russell County Comes Up Short

Russell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Opelika Bulldogs, falling 24-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Tenley Cotarelo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Russell County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Opelika, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Coming up, Russell County will be playing in front of their home fans against LaFayette at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Opelika has already played their next match (against Beulah), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
