Greater Latrobe is a perfect 7-0 against Kiski Area since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Greater Latrobe took on McKeesport on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Kiski Area got themselves on the board against Penn Hills on Monday, but Penn Hills never followed suit. They blew past the Indians 15-0. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Cavaliers this season.

The team relied heavily on Kyla Hutcherson, who fired off three runs, three doubles, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Perona, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Kiski Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Penn Hills only posted an OBP of .200.

The victory made it two in a row for Kiski Area and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Greater Latrobe, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Greater Latrobe came out on top in a nail-biter against Kiski Area in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
