Softball Game Preview: Marian Mustangs vs. Lumen Christi Catholic Titans

The Marian Mustangs will challenge the Lumen Christi Catholic Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lumen Christi Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Marian, who comes in off a win.

Marian barely beat Notre Dame Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 12-6 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Northwest hit Lumen Christi Catholic with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mounties. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Mounties: they've now lost five in a row.

Lumen Christi Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Wrozek, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Marian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Lumen Christi Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
