El Monte has gone a perfect 10-0 against Marshall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (El Monte has four straight victories, Marshall has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between El Monte and Mountain View, and El Monte kept the tradition alive. The Lions blew past the Vikings 8-2 on Wednesday. Considering the Lions have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Eve Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, El Monte saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Herrera, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Marshall came up short against Arroyo on Wednesday, falling 23-2.

El Monte now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything went El Monte's way against Marshall when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as El Monte made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
