Boaz proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Gadsden City Titans 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since March 8, 2025.

Sage Bennett9 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Dayton Porter was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Boaz is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Gadsden City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-8.
