Football Recap: Mason Punchers vs. Refugio Bobcats
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mason couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 27-13 to the Refugio Bobcats. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, the Punchers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Slade Buell threw for 58 yards and a pair of TDs. Kingston Garza was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Refugio got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zander Wills out in front who rushed for 175 yards and two scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Wills didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss). Refugio also got a significant boost from Raydon Lewis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 114 yards.
