Highland Tech had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Shelby Golden Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-14.

Madie Chapman paced Highland Tech's offense, picking up 13 kills. Chapman got some help from Lilly Coletta and her 15 assists. Chapman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Highland Tech's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Shelby, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Highland Tech will take on rival Bessemer City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Shelby is set to face off against their familiar foe Lincolnton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
