Baseball Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Benton can now relate to. They fell just short of the Nashville Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rangers in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost six in a row.

Grant Owens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Clay Gage was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Nashville, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 29-1.

As of now, neither Benton nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
