Softball Recap: J.R. Tucker Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

J.R. Tucker owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past the Hermitage Panthers 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kendall Shockley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Emily Bryant was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Aleea Cobb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

J.R. Tucker has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Hermitage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
