Football Game Preview: De La Salle Meteors vs. Nazareth Academy Roadrunners + Official Tickets

De La Salle is 0-4 against Nazareth Academy since September of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Meteors will face off against the Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. De La Salle has given up an average of 47.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

De La Salle is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Leo on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Meteors were beaten by the Lions 46-13. The Meteors were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Meanwhile, Nazareth Academy won against Joliet Catholic last Friday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Everything went the Roadrunners' way against St. Rita as they made off with a 48-24 win. With the Roadrunners ahead 35-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

The victory (which was Nazareth Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for De La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

De La Salle couldn't quite finish off Nazareth Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Meteors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
