Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for White River Valley

White River Valley waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the North Central Thunderbirds as they made off with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: White River Valley took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-11, 25-8.

White River Valley was led to victory by Anneston Dunigan and Zyleigh Abrams-Condol. Dunigan had five aces, while Abrams-Condol had six digs and one assist. Those five aces gave Dunigan a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: White River Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.

White River Valley now has a winning record of 12-11. As for North Central, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-22.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, White River Valley and Dugger Union will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for North Central, they will square off against Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on the 16th.
