Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Road Victories for Elsinore

It's playoff time, and Elsinore had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the Liberty Bison 5-4. Five seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Jimenez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ivan Huerta, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Elsinore lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Elsinore pushed their record up to 21-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.

Elsinore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they will square off against Camarillo at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scorpions will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Bison surely won't give up without a fight.
