Softball Game Preview: George Washington Prep Generals vs. Reseda Regents

The George Washington Prep Generals will face off against the Reseda Regents at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. George Washington Prep knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Reseda likes a good challenge.

George Washington Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-19 win over Fulton.

Holland Allen was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Emily Varela was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

George Washington Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .673. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .523 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Reseda got the win against Jordan on Wednesday by a conclusive 18-1. The Regents might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

George Washington Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Reseda, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
