Recap: Wauconda vs. Antioch
If the Antioch Sequoits were expecting to get some payback for the 60-38 defeat against the Wauconda Bulldogs when they previously met last month, then they were left disappointed. Antioch suffered a grim 66-45 defeat to Wauconda on Wednesday. The last quarter was a mere formality since it was already 66-45 by the third quarter.
Junior Ella Karg took over for Wauconda, finishing with 27 points (41% of their total). That makes it three straight good games from Karg. Karg's points were the most she has had all year. Junior Kiley Szmajda was another key contributor, picking up 20 points along with eight boards.
This is the second loss in a row for the Sequoits and nudges their record down to 13-15. The win -- their third in a row -- raised Wauconda's record to 19-6.
Antioch has the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome Saint Viator on Wednesday. Saint Viator is hoping for a better outcome this contest after an 81-55 loss to Marist. As for the Bulldogs, they will face off against Harvard on Tuesday. Unlike Wauconda, Harvard will be stumbling in off of a loss.
