After a string of five wins, the Chamblee Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Decatur. Chamblee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Decatur apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Decatur found their leader in underclassman Dejah Raine, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Raine has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Elmahdi, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Chamblee's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Decatur, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11.
Chamblee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Decatur's road trip will continue as they head out to face Arabia Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on February 16th. Arabia Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Decatur likes a good challenge.
