Preview: Boyd County vs. South Point
South Point are packing up and hiking across state lines for their game on Friday. , they are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Boyd County . The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against South Point, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
South Point couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were completely outmatched, falling 12-49 to Portsmouth West. South Point were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Boyd County had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Fairview last Friday as they made off with a 37-14 win. Boyd County was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the rankings had forecast.
Boyd County's victory lifted them to 1-0 while South Point's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Boyd County can add another positive mark to their record or if South Point can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Boyd County's step.
