Basketball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Falcons vs. Fairfield Falcons

We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Christian Brothers is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 71-47 margin over Oakdale. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fairfield waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Fighting Zebras 77-75.

Christian Brothers pushed their record up to 22-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 21-8.

Christian Brothers came up short against Fairfield in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, falling 59-49. Can Christian Brothers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
