Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 64-47 to Prairie, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Prairie is ranked tenth).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Prairie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will host Iowa City West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prairie, they will challenge Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Xavier likes a good challenge.
